There are so many models of Apple Watch now that it can be difficult to know which one is the best to get. If you’re not worried about the latest features from Apple’s watchOS 8 or you just want a simple smartwatch to track your steps, an Apple Watch Series 1 or 2 will suit you fine. However, if you’d like to take advantage of the features in the latest watchOS or you’d like to go swimming with your watch on, we’d recommend the Apple Watch 3 or above. It’s also worth bearing in mind that in autumn 2022, Apple will release watchOS 9, and the Apple Watch Series 3 won’t be compatible.

What does it mean by refurbished Apple Watch?

A refurbished Apple Watch means that it works like new, but it’s had a previous owner. That previous owner might have only used it once and then returned it. When an Apple Watch has been refurbished, it’s gone through rigorous testing to ensure everything is working correctly, and anything that’s wrong with it gets repaired. Buying a refurbished Apple Watch is a great way to reduce your impact on the environment, as a new Apple Watch 7 generates 34kg of carbon emissions in its lifetime.

What is the difference between a Series 3 and a Series 4 Apple Watch?

The biggest difference between the Apple Watch Series 3 and Series 4 is that the Series 4 has a better chip. It has a 64-bit dual core processor, which is twice as fast as the Series 3. The design is also different: you can get a 38mm or 42mm case size in the Series 3, while the Series 4 comes in 40mm and 42mm, giving it a larger screen.

Another big difference to bear in mind with the Series 3 and Series 4 is that the Apple Watch Series 4 will be compatible with watchOS 9 that comes out in the autumn. The Series 3 will only be able to run watchOS 8, so if you want the latest features from Apple you may want to choose a Series 4.
